“Tonight I’ve got to remind you what real love is and always has been. Don’t forget me. Don’t forget your first love story. Don’t forget that I have loved you more than anyone else ever has. Don’t forget I see the hurt you are going through. I see the confusion and I know your heart better than anyone else. I love you. I can help you. I will. Turn it over to me. Lay it at my feet. Don’t be afraid. I know you. When you search for love. When you crave it… when it’s not where you would expect it to be… know that I have always and will always love you. Let me write upon your heart and show you the love you crave… that you search for,” He says.
“God,” I ask.
“What is love?”
“Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.”

Being with someone you love is an incredible feeling, you can’t really put it into words. But for me, it’s when you’re standing right next to each other and you still can’t even begin to gather up the thoughts of how that person makes you feel. It’s when you’re laying down, day dreaming about them, replaying your memories and experiences together. It’s when you’re really sad about something, or need someone to talk to and they’re always there to listen. It’s wanting to hold them every chance you get, for how ever long. It’s when you think about them that you realize you’re the lucky one, for having someone so precious in your life. It’s waking up in the middle of the night for no reason, shifting under the blankets and feeling the heat of the person next to you.
It’s holding them close to you, so you can somehow hope you will end up in their dreams. It’s turning around and seeing them in their most peaceful, innocent, and vulnerable state. It’s seeing them breathe as though the weight of the world lies in their chest. Their smile, your kiss, is the combination of the sweetest feeling ever possible. It’s wrapping your arms around their waist, as you pull them in closer. It’s giving them your all, leaving them kisses all over their face, sending them random cute text messages, losing your hand in theirs, tracing their body with your fingertips while you lose yourself in their eyes.
It’s laying down, side by side, staring eye to eye, without saying a single world, or a single whisper and yet still understand the way one another feels. It’s the time taken out to teach each other, learn each other, study each others feelings, and memorize each others actions. It’s about, always learning and growing until the day when you’ll wake up and realize that you know one another by heart. It’s when the words “I love you, you’re beautiful, you mean everything to me, I’ll always be here for you” become unnecessary and an understanding of the mutual feelings you share come into focus. That is when I believe two people have defined love, true love. <3
